Pre-Kindergarten

Our youngest learners are the life of the show!  Our Pre-K Program is for children who turn 4 years old by December 31st.  Their motivation to learn new things, ask questions, get their hands dirty, and see the world from a new perspective speaks naturally to the heart of our inquiry-based themed curriculum. We tailor the pre=kindergarten program to engage each young learner, helping to foster their curiosity, build concrete understanding of the world around them, and develop a strong base for skills in language, math, social and self development. Our multi-grade learning environment promotes a strong family-feed among out students and teachers. This further nurtures the learning for all students, most especially our Pre-K students. Their social and self development is supported each day by not only their teachers, but the rest of the students in the school. Our students learn greatly from each other and develop a strong sense of self-confidence, belonging, and support as their peers, young and old, look out for each other. Every activity, event, and experience your little one will engage in at Via Vita works to inspire them to continue learning more. They build a stable framework for future learning as they move through the grades.

Throughout the school year, you can look forward to our special performances and work showcases at the end of each term, many field trips and events within the community, and consistent communication from the school and teachers.

*Receipts for our Pre-K Program will cover the full cost of childcare to be used for tax purposes.

Our Pre-K Curriculum

The curriculum for the Pre-K program has been specifically developed to meet the diverse learning needs of this age group. We've tailored their education by implementing leading early education models from around the world and our combined experiences and knowledge as early childhood educators and licensed teachers.  Our unique learning environment engages your child in both skill-based language and math instruction and real-life, exploratory learning experiences that build upon your child's natural curiosity and unique knowledge base.  Your child will participate in inquiry-based themed curriculum, working through real life, applicable experiences to develop questioning, investigating, sharing, and representing knowledge.  Each year the school will choose three themes for the year and through inquiry we'll dive into the topics and explore, learn, and create representations of what we've learned.  Every day at school, your child will also enjoy physical education, outdoor education, life skills, and arts education, in a small class where they are recognized and supported as a valued individual, to the class and to the school.

As a small school with multigrade classrooms, your child will benefit from various mentorship and cooperative learning experiences with children of similar ages and older.  Buddy programs, classroom volunteers, learning support, student-led meetings, performance support crew are just a few examples of how your child will interact with, work with, and benefit from a learning environment that supports mentorship.  Focusing on the development of each child, we believe every experience is a learning experience, for all of our students.
